LOCAL RULES • UPDATED OCT 2025

Where (Not) to Park Your Scooter in Jomtien — 2025 Local Guide

Skip the fines and keep the footpaths clear. Here’s how to park legally (and stress‑free) around Jomtien Beach, Thappraya Rd, and Second Rd.

The 10‑Second Rule

  • Never park on sidewalks/footpaths.
  • Don’t block driveways, shop fronts, crossings, or ramps.
  • Look for marked bays or curb‑side areas without red‑white paint.
  • Helmet & documents stay with you (license + IDP recommended).
Quick tip: If in doubt, ask a nearby shop/guard for permission, or use a mall/market lot.

Safe Places to Park (Do)

  • Marked motorcycle bays along Beach Rd / Jomtien Beach Rd.
  • Shopping centers & markets (with attendants or ticketing).
  • Hotel/condo visitor areas (ask reception first).
  • Restaurants/cafés that explicitly allow customer parking.
  • Temples/attractions lots where signed and supervised.

Places to Avoid (Don’t)

  • Sidewalks/footpaths (even “just for a minute”).
  • Red‑white painted curbs, bus stops, zebra crossings.
  • Beach boardwalks and pedestrian promenades.
  • Corner bends/curves with poor visibility.
  • Any area with “No Parking” or municipal cones/signs.

Beach Road vs. Side Streets (What’s Different?)

Beach Road & Jomtien Beach Rd see frequent patrols and tourist‑area enforcement. Use marked bays or lots and avoid curbs close to crossings/traffic lights.

Thappraya Rd & Second Rd carry faster traffic and more incidents. Choose off‑street lots or clearly signed bays; avoid tight corners and blind curves.

Evening & weekend checks are common in tourist zones.

Parking Etiquette (So You Don’t Get Towed or Ticketed)

  • Park straight and compact so others can fit.
  • Fold mirrors inward if the row is tight.
  • Lock the steering; don’t leave helmets loose on the seat.
  • Keep a photo of where you parked (row/landmark) to find it later.
  • If a marshal leaves a note, move immediately or ask where to go.

If You’re Stopped or Ticketed

  • Be polite; show license (and IDP) if asked.
  • Ask where the nearest legal parking is for next time.
  • If your bike was towed, contact us and we’ll help retrieve it.
  • Remember: helmet enforcement is strict in 2025—keep it on when riding.
